we cannot change the cards we are dealt,
just how we play the hand.

Deathly Life
we don't really ask ourselves who we are. in fact, the last i heard something along this line - was from jackie chan on a mountaintop in '98. but the dangerous thing is, we might think we already know who we are when it's likely that we don't know who we are at all. and if we don't know our true identity, we're in trouble.
we'll spend our life in a dreamlike state, falsely identifying ourselves as something or someone we aren't. then on the basis of this false identification, we chase the goals of our lives and purpose of our existence. periodically, we stop and use these goals to gauge if we're making progress and whether we're on a path of success. alas, we are abetted in our delusion by a complex social network of relationships with other dreamers.
of course, only near death, the whole affair turns into a nightmare. comical how things might turn out ain't it. and i told myself, when the curtains are drawn, i will laugh a cackling coo, and not lament in eves and butts.
and then i jolt in horror, for false identification is but the second of catastrophes. false identification guides us to lofty dreams, but in there is hope - real hope to false clouds, the frogs in the well. that beats those who walk their paths in non-identification, frogs who croak but do naught, void of hope, faith and love.
really, life and death are the same thing. you see, death is nothing to us because when we are, death is absent and when death is, we are not any more. it is nothing then, to the living or the dead. i'd say that the only difference between life and death is actually quite simple. life allows us to make decisions. a dead man sleeps. and my prayer is that we make wise decisions and grasp hope in faithfulness. and love.
a lively death.
the voices in my head-
i love my girl. a love so beautiful, symmetrical, tangible
God loves me. a love so great, unconditional, real.
my life in a nutshell. working towards loves of sorts. beautiful, symmetrical, tangible, great, unconditional and real.
a page, deliberately left blank.
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking.
It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
I Corinthians 13:4-8
